Meet Mrs. Riley


Tell us about yourself:

I grew up in Cushing. I attended Cushing Consolidated School (now called Cushing Community School) from kindergarten through sixth grade. I attended Thomaston Grammar School for seventh and eighth grade. I graduated from Georges Valley High School in 1994. After graduation, I attended Elmira College in Elmira, New York. I graduated with my Bachelors in Education, with a concentration in mathematics, in 1998. 

 

That same year I began teaching math and social studies to eighth grade students at Thomaston Grammar School. I remained at Thomaston Grammar School teaching the eighth grade for the next thirteen years. I taught math every year, and some years I also taught social studies or English. While there I earned my Masters in Education from UMaine Orono in 2002 and my Certificate of Advance Study (CAS) in Educational Leadership in 2009. I was a team leader there for ten years and head teacher for seven years. I served on a variety of committees over the years and was the Math Counts math team coach for twelve of those years. And I served on the Transition Advisory Group (TAG). 

 

When the eighth grade left Thomaston Grammar School, I transferred to Oceanside West. There I continued to teach math to eighth graders for the next two years. I also served as team leader, curriculum lead, math team coach, and NEASC accreditation chairperson. 

 

I wanted to make the move to administration but wanted to remain in the district that I love. I was thrilled when this position opened, and even more thrilled when I was chosen for the position. I am proud to be the principal the Thomaston GrammarSchool. We have excellent teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members who support education in this great community.

 

I reside in Thomaston with my husband, Shane, and my two sons, Evan, age 10, and Liam, age 8. When I am not at school, I am spending time with my wonderful family.

Meet Mrs. Eddy


Tell me about yourself.

My name is Janelle Eddy and I am the K – 8 art teacher in Thomaston. I grew up in Cushing and attended Cushing Community School and Thomaston Grammar School. I graduated from Georges Valley High School in 1996 and graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelors Degree in Art Education in 2002.

 

Why do you like teaching art?

I enjoy teaching art because it allows me to share my passion for art with my students. I enjoy this quote by Pablo Picasso, “All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” I truly believe that all children are artists and that it is my job to give them the tools to believe and realize that they are.

 

What are your favorite student units?

I have always enjoyed working with clay, so any lesson in which we work with clay would be my favorite lesson. We make frogs, turtles, cupcakes, vases, and many more items out of clay.

Gifted and Talented

 

Meet Ms. Nielson

Tell me about yourself.

 

 I grew up in New Jersey and Massachusetts. My undergraduate degree is from Colby College where I majored in chemistry. I earned my teaching certificate from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

 

I have taught swimming, basic electronics to electronic warfare officers, 4/5th grade in Pennsylvania, 6-8 reading in Winthrop, and many subjects through my position as a teacher in gifted and talented. I received my masters in 2010 from the University of Southern Maine.

 

I commute from Augusta every day but find the drive easy as I enjoy the scenery and listen to books on CD. I like to explore new places so travel whenever I can. I love reading and music so I often can be seen singing in the car as I drive.

 

What do you like about teaching Gifted & Talented?

The variety in subjects I get to teach from math to science to social studies/history and literature not only allows me to share my knowledge, but I get to learn new things too!

Reading assignments should be completed before our sessions either during school or at home. Math assignments should take no more than 30 minutes of concentrated effort unless working on ALEKS which is self-paced.

Meet Miss Boden

Tell me about yourself.

 

Hello! My name is Ashley Boden and I am the music teacher at Cushing Community School and Thomaston Grammar School. I have been teaching general music and band for 2 and a half years. I grew up in Liberty, Maine with two music teacher parents and have been an active clarinet player and singer my whole life. I graduated from Mount View High School in Thorndike in 2011 and I graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2015 with a bachelors degree in Music Education.I currently live in Damariscotta with my adorable cat Singer.

 

Why you like to teach your grade or special area?

 

I love to teach music because I feel that every child should be able to communicate their artistic side, whether its via music, art, or another media. Music has been my passion my whole life and I am excited to be able to share it with our community. One of my favorite quotes is from a professor I had at the University of Southern Maine, Music sounds how feelings feel. I feel that this perfectly describes why I love to teach music.

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

I really love to teach band. I feel that being an instrumentalist is a skill that takes a lot of hard work and dedication and I love to be able to help foster those traits in our students.

Physical Education

 

Meet Mr. Petrie

Tell me about yourself.

 

I was born and raised in Old Town, Maine, where my parents still live and work to this day. My brother who is three years younger is working for Cianbro in that area as well. I played Soccer, Basketball, and ran Track and Field during Middle School and High School. I went to college at The University of Maine at Presque Isle and played Soccer for the school. I graduated in four years with a Bachelor of Science degree in Teaching Physical Education in 2008 and started working for RSU 13 in the fall of that year. I have been teaching in the RSU ever since. I am a huge advocate of the outdoors and love to go hiking, camping, white water rafting, and just about anything outside.

 

 

Why do you like teaching Physical Education?

 

I love teaching Physical Education because of the opportunity to use activity as learning tool. I get the privilege to watch the students explore their surroundings and capabilities as a mover. Also, I think that physical well being is the single most important way to a long and healthy life. I am fortunate to start this form of education at the early ages where a lot of habits are formed. I find that teaching this subject and age group will keep me feeling young not matter how many years I teach for.

 

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

I really enjoy scooters, the parachute, team games, exploration days, and especially the class challenge days where I will surprise the class with a challenge and watch to see if they can complete, solve, or beat the challenge. They don’t know what they are in for just yet…

 

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

 

I hope parents feel free to communicate with me using my email which I check daily. Also, they can contact me at the school and I will get back to them at my next free moment. I also am open to parents coming into class to observe both their child and the class(es) I will be teaching.

Meet Mrs. Kangas


Tell me about yourself.

I received my bachelors from the University of Southern Maine in Social Work.  I spent much of my career working with children and families ages birth-21 with special needs as a strengths based social worker.  In 2016 I enrolled in the graduate program at the University of Maine to pursue a Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education.  I am currently working on my graduate action research project and anticipate graduating this spring. 

 

When I am not teaching, I can be found spending time with my amazing husband and two wonderful daughters. We enjoy taking in the beauty of the outdoors and can be found outside the majority of the summer.

 

Why do you like teaching in the Resource Room?

I love working with a diverse range of students and watching them grow over many years.  I prefer working in small group settings and finding ways to make content interesting, meaningful, and accessible to all of my students.  Every student challenges my creativity and encourages me to think outside the box.

 

What are your favorite student units?

I love teaching any unit in which the instruction can occur through play or exploration!

Meet Miss Smith


Tell me about yourself.

 

I grew up in Spruce Head, Maine and graduated from Rockland High School. While completing my B.S. in Mental Health and Human Services from the University of Maine at Augusta, I changed paths from working in a Residential Program for children to working as a BHP in the Intensive Support Program at South School. I realized quickly that I loved working in Special Education and began taking courses towards my Special Education Teaching Certification. I spent 5 years as a BHP at South School before beginning my current position as a Resource Room teacher at Thomaston Grammar School and Cushing Community School. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time outdoors, riding my horse, walking my dogs, paddle boarding, and gardening.

 

 

Why do you like teaching in the Resource Room?


I like teaching in the Resource Room because I get to work with students from each grade level. I enjoy teaching small groups and covering many different skills and subjects during my day.

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

It’s hard for me to pick just one unit or subject as my favorite. I love that I get to teach math, reading, and writing! It is so fun and exciting to watch my students master the skills we have been working on.

Meet Nurse Fales

As the school nurse for TGS and CCS I am thrilled to work in the community where I live. I graduated from Georges Valley High School and continued my education to earn my bachelor’s degree in nursing at Husson University. After college I worked at Lincoln Health-Miles Memorial Hospital on MedSurg, ICU and the ED. I hope to integrate this knowledge to keep our students and school safe.

I enjoy being a part of students’ lives as they learn to make good choices about their health. I believe it is important to support our youth with education and compassion so they can lead happy, healthy lives.

Speech and Language

 

Meet Mrs. Stinson

 

Tell me about yourself.

I grew up in southern New Jersey and attended Muhlenberg College, where I received my B.S. in Natural Science. After college, I worked for two years doing in-home ABA therapy for children with autism in the Philadelphia area. I then moved to Boston and earned my Masters in Speech Pathology from Northeastern University. While completing my Masters, I worked as a Research Assistant and participated in two different projects focused on Voice Output Communication Aids. After graduation from Northeastern, I completed my Clinical Fellowship in Brooklyn, NY at a preschool for children with autism. I then moved to Portland, ME and worked at The REACH School for six years providing speech/language therapy to children ages 1-6 with a variety of developmental disabilities. When my husband got a job in midcoast Maine in 2013, I began working for RSU #13.  

 

Why do you like teaching speech & language?

I enjoy the variety that is involved with Speech/Language therapy. I like working with students in small groups on everything from speech sound errors to social skills.

Meet Mrs. Markwith

Tell me about yourself.

 

I grew up in Thomaston, Maine. I attended Lura Libby School, Thomaston Grammar, and graduated from Georges Valley High School in 2002. I went to college and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine in 2006. After substituting and long-term substituting for one year, I landed a job at the St. George School in Tenants Harbor, Maine teaching Kindergarten. I taught there for 5 years. Within those years St. George was in the beginning stages of becoming an Expeditionary Learning School. From Expeditionary Learning I learned how to do 8 to 10-week Expeditions, student-led conferences, standards based progress reports and much more. Having the opportunity to teach at an Expeditionary Learning school has helped me learn how to take teaching to the next level.

After teaching at St. George School for 5 years, I was transferred to Lura Libby School to teach Kindergarten. This is a wonderful and happy place to be. I’m so happy to be a part of the staff here!

 

Why do you like teaching kindergarten?

 

I couldn’t think of just one reason so I came up with 10 reasons why I love teaching Kindergarten.

1. Kindergartners ALWAYS love their teacher.

2. They start the year barely able to hold a pencil and end the year reading and writing!

3. Kindergarteners are excited about everything we do in class.

4. I get hugs all day long.

5.  Where can you go every day where someone will tell you that you look beautiful?

6.  Their unguarded remarks that make me laugh such as "What happened to your hair today?"

7.  They love to sing and so do I.

8.  They don't mind that I can't draw well.

9.  They always tell me that I'm the best teacher they ever had even though I'm (for most) the only teacher they have ever had.

10.  When you teach kindergarten...YOU are the one that starts their academic careers off with success.  What can be more rewarding than that?

 

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

I did an Expedition called “A Greener Earth, One Child at a Time.” It consisted of 2 case studies. The first case study was called “Pollution on Earth.” We studied the three types of pollution (air, water, land) and its effects on the Earth and on life. Some highlights were: for air pollution, we did a window cleaning experiment and an air experiment around the school grounds. For land pollution, it included cleaning up litter, and then counting and sorting litter (with gloves on of course! J). And for water pollution, we studied the life cycle of Bald Eagles, the Earth’s water cycle, and had two experts come in. One expert taught us about oil spills. The second expert showed us how oil spills effect birds, how to clean oil up and how humans can prevent many spills from happening.

The second case study was called “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” We learned how we can reduce what we use everyday, like taking shorter showers, not brushing our teeth with the water running and hanging out the clothes instead of using the dryer. We also learned how we can reuse materials such as melting down old crayons into new ones, making art from old newspaper and more.

To show what we learned throughout this expedition, we made a calendar. I truly enjoyed doing this Expedition because the students got to learn about important topics that they hopefully will carry with them through life.

What are your homework guidelines?

I do send work home about every week. It is sent home on a Monday and needs to be back by Friday of the same week. It is a very small amount. The homework is there to help your child get extra practice on the current skills we’re working on in class. It’s also a great time for you and your child to sit down together and to see what your child is learning about. Giving the students a little bit of homework teaches them self-discipline and pride as well. When the students bring their completed work back to school they give themselves a sticker to put on their homework chart. Over time the chart will fill up with stickers and they earn a reward for all of their hard work!

 

 

Meet Miss Currier

Tell me about yourself.

 

My name is Charlee Currier, and I was born and raised in Northern Maine. Fresh out of high school I attended Washington County Community College, where I received my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. From there, I continued on to The University of Maine, where I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. 

 

 

Why do you like teaching kindergarten?

 

Since I started my career in Education, I quickly realized I was drawn to kindergarten due to its special and unique aspects. I adore their interest in learning, and their desire to explore the world around them. Beyond the crucial academics which will be taught, students will be also busy learning other important life lessons. Students begin to learn sharing, communicating, sense of empathy, direction following, and how to be a good friend. Kindergarten is an exciting age, and with my past educational experience, teaching Kindergarten is exactly where I want to be!

 

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

Writing! I love teaching students to write. The amount of growth a student is capable of acquiring in the writing department within a year is astounding. I cannot wait to watch my students grow!

 

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

 

I consider communication to be crucial and therefore I will be reaching out to each family to establish the most appropriate form of contact. Families are encouraged to reach me by school telephone, or email at ccurrier@rsu13.org.

Grade 1

 

Meet Miss Wotton

Tell me about yourself.

 

I grew up in Rockland and graduated from Rockland District High School in 2010. I began at Wheelock College where I also played on the school’s soccer team. I then transferred to the University of Maine at Farmington. I completed my student teaching here at Lura Libby in second grade. In December 2013, I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a Mathematics concentration. After spending the spring as a long-term substitute in a Kindergarten classroom, I am very excited to be a first grade teacher!

 

 

Why do you like to teach first grade?

 

I love the energy of first graders. There is so much that is new and exciting to them. They constantly make me smile with their stories, compliments, and honesty.

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

First grade is a big year for students. They really get a chance to develop their reading and writing skills. Math has always been my favorite subject. I love to see the moment when something just clicks.

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

 

I plan to send home a weekly newsletter to keep families informed. Email is the best way to contact me. My email address is hwotton@rsu13.org. Students will also have Home-School folders that are checked by parents and me daily.

 

 

What are your homework guidelines?

 

I will send home most homework on Mondays to be returned on Fridays. This is meant to be completed a little bit each night, not all at once. I may also send home some books or assignments during the week as we reach a topic in class.

 

 

Meet Mrs. Howard

Tell me about yourself.

My name is Melissa Howard, and I teach First Grade at Thomaston Grammar School. I have been with RSU #13 since 2006.

 

Why do you like to teach first grade?

I like to teach first grade because it is an exciting year in a child’s academic career, when reading and writing skills emerge, and it is fun to be a part of that. I also like this age because learning is so dynamic with singing, moving, and doing hands-on activities.

 

What are your favorite student units?

My favorite student unit is The Gingerbread Man. This unit ties in various literature forms of the famous folktale, as well as math, reading, and writing. Butterflies is another of my favorite units. This is another multi-disciplinary unit that involves science, literature, writing, reading, and art.

What are your homework guidelines?

Students are expected to read 10 minutes per evening, 4 days a week. This should be with familiar books practiced at school to increase reading fluency, expression, and memory. Students are also assigned 10 minutes of math computation homework 4 days a week. Other assignments may be sent home from time to time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grade 2

 

Meet Mrs. Bassett


Tell me about yourself.

I have been teaching in the district since 1983. I graduated from the University of Maine, Farmington and began teaching at Lura Libby School. I taught at the St. George School for three years before returning to Lura Libby.

 

Why do you like to teach second grade?

I like teaching younger students. They are excited about everything. I also like the idea of instilling a love of reading that will last throughout their lives.

 

What are your favorite student units?

I love teaching any units that stress reading (literacy).

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

What are your homework guidelines?

Students are asked to read every night for 15 minutes. This can be independently or with someone else. Other homework is sent home on Monday and needs to be returned by Friday. Parents are encouraged to review homework with children but let them try it by themselves.

 

Meet Mrs. Brewster


Tell me about yourself.

I have been teaching second grade in MSAD 50/RSU 13 since 1984. I spent two years teaching at the Cushing Community School before coming to Lura Libby. Mrs. Eddy was a student in my first Cushing class!

 

Why do you like to teach second grade?

Second grade is a special grade to teach. The students are building literacy skills and becoming confident, independent readers. There are opportunities during the day for many types of learning. Children work in whole group settings, small groups, partners, and independently.

 

What are your favorite student units?

Flat Stanley is a favorite literacy unit. We read the book, write friendly letters, and learn about our country and other places around the world.

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

I send home weekly newsletters and mail on occasion. I send home notes or call parents. I welcome calls, notes, or emails from parents as well.

 

What are your homework guidelines?

Homework is generally sent home on Monday and due on Friday each week. Assignments may vary, but usually include: reading for 15 – 20 minutes each night, a math assignment and/or math activity, and a spelling assignment. Meet Miss Anthony

 

Tell me about yourself.

I graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta in December of 2014. I have been working in RSU13 as a substitute throughout my whole college career. I even student taught here in the Fall of 2014 in the second grade. After student teaching I was a long term sub in the Castles program and am excited to have a full time job as a teacher here!

 

Why do you like teaching third grade?

I really like how independent 3rd graders are becoming at this grade level. It’s a great age to start organizational skills and responsibility.

 

What are your favorite student units?

My favorite student unit to teach my students is multiplication and the fairy tale unit. I have always believed that multiplication is a very great skill for students to have. I love the tricks you can teach your students for multiplication. The fairy tale unit is really cool as well. I love teaching all the different elements of a fairy tale. 

 

What is your plan for parent contact plan?

In my 3rd grade class we have a M.O.O.S.E binder. In the binder there is a spot specifically for parent communication. Also email is another great way for parents to contact me. My e-mail is banthony@rsu13.org        

  

What are your homework guidelines?

In my students M.O.O.S.E binder there is a spot for their homework. Also the students have a planner where they write their homework in everyday to remind them and their parents what is for homework each night. Homework varies every night except for reading. The students are required to read for a minimum of 15 minutes every night. They are to record their times that they have read in their monthly reading log.

 

 

Grade 4

 

Meet Ms. Richter

Tell me about yourself. 

I graduated with my teaching degree from Texas Woman’s University. I began teaching in MSAD 40 teaching 1st and 4th grades. I have taught both 1st and 4th in RSU 13 as well as Title 1 reading and math. This is my eighth year in this district.

I live in Rockland with my two sons who are successful 8th and 12th grade students in this district. We enjoy hiking and visiting cities, museums, and national parks during our summers.

 

 

Why do you like to teach fourth grade? 

I enjoy the children’s literature that is read in 4th grade. I appreciate the independence of 4th graders.

 

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

I love teaching about Maine and the rest of the states. I do love a road trip!

Grade 5

                           Meet Miss Johnston

Tell me about yourself.

 

Miss Johnston grew up in Cushing/Thomaston and attended both Lura Libby and Thomaston Grammar School (when it was a middle school). She went to college at the University of Maine at Augusta where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She now lives in Rockport and loves teaching her 5th grade math and social studies classes at TGS!

 

Why do you like to teach fifth grade?

 

I like teaching 5th grade because they are old enough to catch my sense of humor and they still love their teachers! They’re a fun age group!

 

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

It is my first year of teaching so it’s hard to say! However, I am very excited about our explorer unit in Social Studies. We will be creating movies on explorers and will be playing around with green screen!

 

In math my favorite unit to teach is adding fractions! I like that we can connect this to cooking and baking and tie it in with things students are doing in science class.

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

 

I currently have a Bloomz page that I run for the entire fifth grade. Parents are able to contact me through this. My email is tjohnston@rsu13.org and I am always happy to take phone calls if needed.

 

 

What are your homework guidelines?


I will assign math or social studies homework most weeks, but never both. Homework is considered a “habits for success grade” so if I see that the student has put their best effort into doing their homework they will earn a 3. This is to help students develop a homework routine as they begin to transition to middle school life.

Tell me about yourself.

 I grew up in Warren, Maine, attended MSAD #40 schools, and graduated from the University of Maine. My degree is in Social Science. Before becoming a public school teacher, I spent years working for the American Red Cross. Kids and adults in mid-coast Maine know me as their past swimming, lifeguarding, first aid, and/or CPR instructor. My husband, Bob, and I live in Thomaston. We enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, and gardening. Fun fact…I am the maternal granddaughter of the late Lura Libby who had the previous elementary school named in her honor.

 

 

Why do you like to teach fifth grade?

 

10 & 11 year olds are FULL of energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm. They are sponges, with ardent desire to absorb information. This age group is a lot of fun to spend time with!

 

What are your favorite student units?

 

In order to inspire student engagement, a teacher must be enthusiastic about all units they teach. Yet, I must admit, I do LOVE our TGS 5th grade garden unit. It’s a place where the “playing field” is leveled and students find successes and challenges in hands on, authentic learning.

 

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

 

Email is best.

 

 

What are your homework guidelines?

  

Students should be reading 30 minutes each night and fill out their reading logs. On occasion, I may send work home with a student if they are behind with their classroom assignments. I believe that homework should not take away from family time.

Meet Miss Leach

Tell me about yourself.

I graduated from the University of Maine in Farmington in the Spring of 2014 with a B.S. in Special Education. I spent the last year working as a BHP at the South School in Rockland. This will be my first year as a Special Educator and I could not be more excited!

 

Why do you like teaching Life Skills?

I love teaching special education because I learn so much from my students on a daily basis.  

 

What are your favorite student units?

I love working on social skills through play!

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

I welcome and encourage parent contact! I send home daily notes for every student so that parents are up to speed with what their child is doing throughout each day. I also keep regular communication through email and phone calls.

Meet Mrs. Walsh

My name is Laurie Walsh, and I am the new Library Media Specialist and Technology Teacher for TGS!.  This job was created last year to combine the positions of librarian, technology integrator, and technology teacher.   I manage the library, help kids find and use books, teach research skills and Internet safety, teach how to use digital documents, and make movies and create shared digital projects with students.  We are currently starting computer programming with grades 2-5 using the curriculum in Code.org.  Eventually we will learn to program simple robots as well.  With the K-1 students we will eventually use Kodable and small robots called BeeBots if my Donors Choose grant is fully funded.  In addition to working with students, I work with teachers to help them incorporate technology into their classrooms.
 
I have worked for first MSAD 5 and then RSU13 for 18 years as a middle school English and math teacher and then as the technology integrator at the elementary and middle schools.  This newly created position, however, is my hands down favorite.  I love the library part of my job because getting just the right book into each child’s hands is challenging and rewarding.  I also love the technology part of my job and look forward to making movies with students, beginning to tackle the fundamentals of computer programming, and learning Internet safety using the curriculum from Common Sense Media.  I look forward to meeting you, so please stop in and see me in the library.  I would love to show you what we do.

Meet Mrs. Mellor

Tell me about yourself.

I began teaching in 1978 at the high school level, moving on to grades 3, 5, and reading/language arts at the middle school level. My undergraduate degree is in Special and Elementary Education, with a minor in Reading Instruction. My graduate degree is in Educational Administration.

 

Why do you like Title I?

After instructing at higher levels, I wanted to work with younger children, assisting them in learning to read. It’s great to watch little ones become successful readers.

 

What are your favorite student units?

I enjoy maintaining the Accelerated Reader program. The students are so excited when they progress through the point clubs. It’s learning made enjoyable.

 

What is your plan for parent contact?

Home practice is individualized and at the parents’ request.

 

 

Meet Ms. Flanagan

Tell me about yourself.

I am originally from Thomaston and was a student at Thomaston Grammar School when it was a middle school. I lived in the Boston area for the past 10 years and during that time received my Masters in Elementary Education and a Specialist in Reading from Lesley University. Also during that time I worked in public schools in the Boston area with all grades from Kindergarten all the way up to Eighth grade. I moved back to the area last year and I love working in my hometown and seeing familiar faces

 

Why do you like Title I?

I love being able to differentiate instruction for students using manipulatives and seeing students progress towards their goals in math or reading.

 

What are your favorite subject areas?

My favorite subject areas are Math and Reading. Both of which I teach. I love being able to use fun math games for students who need to learn numbers and I love teaching students how to read.
