Congratulations to Mrs. Pavalkis, 2011-12 Conservation Teacher of the Year!
The Knox Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District is happy to announce Anne Palvakis as Conservation Teacher of the Year for Knox County. Each year the district recognizes a teacher, or in our two county district up to two teachers, for their efforts in increasing environmental literacy with their students. Mrs. Pavalkis has been the lead teacher in Thomaston Grammar School Common Ground School Garden for the past two or three years. Students are engaged in hands-on learning with a focus on Science and Math, but Mrs. Pavalkis being the creative teacher that she is, accomplishes these goals not only with standard science experiments but with art projects as well. The art of teaching shines through with Mrs. Pavalkis. We are thrilled to recognize her for her efforts! Congratulations!
