Aiden receives his Make-A-Wish

Gratitude Awards at Thomaston Grammar School

Several students at Thomaston Grammar School were recognized for having gratitude at a school-wide assembly on January 3rd. Students receiving the Gratitude Attitude Award were: Anthony Diaz, Juleigha Eustis, Giuliana Rubino, Mason VanHorn, Avery Cole, Trevor Campbell, Dylan Latta, Payton Porter, Amyiah Hantz, Trenton Adams, Zoey Hendron, Elizabeth Guzman, Lorelei Walsh, Aiden Linscott, Aden Daniello, Evelyn Fairfield, and Sophia Chen.

Often, when we think of gratitude, we think of being thankful for what we have.  That is a part of having gratitude, but there is much more to it.  It also involves being generous towards those around us.  It is the realization that each and every one of us can have a positive impact on those around us and the world.  Students who have gratitude have a growth mindset.  They are grateful for the knowledge they have and are always looking to learn more.  They want to help others.  They are polite and understanding of those around them.  When people are kind to them, they really think about how thoughtful those actions were and how they may then pass that feeling on to others.  People with gratitude are regularly thinking about what there is to be thankful for.

Ryleigh Gagnon also received the Principal’s Award. Ryleigh is a wonderful member of the TGS community.  She is like a ray of sunshine, and she spreads positivity wherever she goes.  She is kind, responsible, respectful, and so much more.  She cares about her classmates and staff members here at TGS and is happy to do anything she can to help others and to ensure that they have a good day.  She gets along well with everyone and is happy to work with any of her peers, and they are happy to work with her.  She is a hard worker and always does her very best.

At the end of our Gratitude Assembly, we completed a school-wide game, as we do every assembly.  This particular game involved an exciting ending.  Students worked together to solve a word puzzle.  Once the puzzle was solved, school community members could see that it said Happy Wish Day, Aiden Linscott!  Aiden found out that Make-A-Wish Maine has granted his wish for a shopping spree.  Aiden and his family, and the entire school community, were thrilled to hear that Aiden's wish will be granted!

Congratulations to Aiden and all the students who received awards at TGS this month!
