On May 27th, Thomaston Grammar School had a Zooming Into Summer event. Amber Taylor-Soares, TGS speech assistant, came up with an idea to have a vehicle parade here at school. The Wellness Committee agreed it was a great idea and helped this magnificent event to take shape. Thanks to Toby Stinson and a group of volunteers he brought from the Owls Head Transportation Museum, Thomaston PD, Thomaston Fire & EMS, the Coast Guard, the Sheriff's Department, and many other community members, we were able to hold a parade of vehicles right here at Thomaston Grammar School. The students had a marvelous time viewing the public service vehicles, antique cars, and more. Once the parade was over, students were treated to popsicles, and 4th and 5th grade students took part in a presentation where they learned some automobile history and how a crank start car is operated. They were also able to get a closer look at some of the cars and ask questions of the drivers. It was a fun event for all who attended! Thank you to anyone who volunteered to spend the afternoon with us at TGS to help make this event a success!
