Showing respect is one of the most important traits that each one of us should possess and practice. Having respect for yourself and for your community members is extremely important. Being respectful includes being kind to others, seeing situations through their eyes, having empathy, communicating in an appropriate way, considering the feelings of others when making decision regarding what you do and say, being an active listener, and so much more.
Often, when we think of gratitude, we think of being thankful for what we have. That is a part of having gratitude, but there is much more to it. It also involves being generous towards those around us. It is the realization that each and every one of us can have a positive impact on those around us and the world. Students who have gratitude have a growth mindset. They are grateful for the knowledge they have and are always looking to learn more. They want to help others. They are polite and understanding of those around them. When people are kind to them, they really think about how thoughtful those actions were and how they may then pass that feeling on to others. People with gratitude are regularly thinking about what there is to be thankful for.
Callie Colson was also presented with this month’s Principal’s Award. Callie is patient, kind, trustworthy, responsible, respectful, and so much more. She cares about her classmates and teachers and will do anything she can to assist them. She gets along well with everyone and is happy to work with any of her peers, and they are happy to work with her. She works hard at everything she does and does not give up. We are so happy that Callie is a member of the Thomaston Grammar School community.
Congratulations to all the students who received awards at TGS this month
